Fix 1: Assign or Change Drive Letter<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Step 1:<\/strong> Right-click the Windows Start button<\/strong>, locate Disk management,<\/strong> and click to open.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Step 2:<\/strong> Locate the partition<\/strong> you want to change the letter of and right-click on it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Step 3:<\/strong> Select Change Drive Letter and Paths<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fix 2. Remap the Network Drive<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Windows system assigns specific letters to your computer drives. However, during network mapping<\/a>, the drive letters may get mixed up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Step 1: <\/strong>Open the Run<\/strong> prompt (Win + R), type cmd<\/strong><\/em>, and use Ctrl + Shift + Enter <\/strong>to launch it with admin permission.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Step 2:<\/strong> Copy and paste the below command<\/strong> and press Enter<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

net use Z \/delete<\/pre>\n\n\n\n
Remember to replace ‘Z’ with the partition you want to delete. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Step 3:<\/strong> After deleting the device name, modify it by running this command.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
net use Z: \\\\server\\share \/user:username password<\/pre>\n\n\n\n
Remember to use the same drive letter ‘Z’ with where you want to map the drive. Also, input a relevant user and username password for the drive you want to modify.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Step 4:<\/strong> Restart<\/strong> your device and confirm<\/strong> that the mapping issue has been resolved.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Method 3. Delete MountPoints2 Key<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
Deleting some registry keys could resolve your system’s mapping issues. Here’s how to erase the MountPoints2 key.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Step 1:<\/strong> Press the Windows + R <\/strong>keys to launch the <\/strong>Run dialog box. Type<\/span>\u00a0regedit<\/em><\/span> <\/strong>and press Enter<\/strong> to open the Registry Editor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Step 2:<\/strong> Locate this path in the next window.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
