Right-click on the Command Prompt in the Start menu and select Run as Administrator. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Check if the app is installed or not: <\/strong>Often, the error can arise because the command you are trying to run belongs to an app that isn\u2019t installed on your PC.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Run SFC scan: <\/strong>Run the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.guidingtech.com\/how-to-use-sfc-scan-in-windows\/\">SFC scan<\/a> on your PC to fix any corrupted system files <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-fix-1-switch-to-the-correct-drive-and-directory\">Fix 1: Switch to the Correct Drive and Directory<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.guidingtech.com\/top-ways-to-fix-command-prompt-not-working-on-windows-11\/\">Command Prompt may not recognize commands<\/a> if you are trying to access the program from the wrong directory. Command Prompt lets you access any system tool from any directory. But, if you are trying to access a third-party tool, you will need to switch to the directory where the tool is present and then run commands related to it. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Step 1: <\/strong>Press the <strong>Windows key<\/strong> to open the Start menu. Let\u2019s say you are trying to access the Vivetool present in a folder in the D drive. The simple reason is that the Command Prompt doesn\u2019t understand that you intentionally left a space and if that is the actual folder or file name. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To eliminate this problem, you can encapsulate the complete path and the command inside double quotes.
