How to View Two Excel Worksheets Side-by-Side<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

View Two Worksheets in the Same Excel Workbook Side-by-Side<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Step 1:<\/strong> From your PC’s Start menu or Taskbar, click the Microsoft Excel<\/strong> app or workbook to open it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Step 2: <\/strong>On the Excel Ribbon, click the View<\/strong> tab.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Step 3: <\/strong>In the Window group of the View tab, click New Window<\/strong>. This will create a duplicate of your open workbook.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Step 4:<\/strong> Click the View <\/strong>tab again and View Side by Side<\/strong> within the Window group. This will place both workbooks side by side.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Step 5:<\/strong> Click the sheet<\/strong> you want to compare in each workbook window.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You must ensure the worksheet tabs are showing<\/a> so you can view them side by side.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

View Two Worksheets in Different Excel Workbooks Side-by-Side<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Step 1:<\/strong> Open the workbooks<\/strong> with the worksheets that you want to place side-by-side.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Step 2: <\/strong>On the Excel Ribbon, click the View<\/strong> tab.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Step 3:<\/strong> Click the View Side by Side<\/strong> option within the Window group.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Step 4:<\/strong> If you have more than two workbooks open, Excel will launch the Compare Side by Side <\/strong>dialog box. Select the workbook<\/strong> you want to compare and click OK<\/strong>. This will place both workbooks side by side.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Step 5:<\/strong> Once done, click the sheet<\/strong> you want to compare in each workbook window.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Edit the View of Side-by-Side Excel Workbooks<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

When you enable the View Side by Side option, Excel, by default, will place both worksheets in a Tiled view. However, you can change the view of your worksheets using the steps below:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Step 1:<\/strong> On the Excel Ribbon, click the View<\/strong> tab.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Step 2: <\/strong>Click the View tab, and within the Window group, click Arrange All<\/strong>. This will launch the Arrange Window dialog box.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Step 3:<\/strong> From the following options, select how you want your Excel workbooks stacked:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  • Tiled:<\/strong> The windows are arranged as squares of equal size in the order you open them.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Horizontal:<\/strong> the windows are stacked one below another.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Vertical: <\/strong>the windows are placed next to each other.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Cascade: <\/strong>the windows overlap one another.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

    Step 4: <\/strong>If you want to work with multiple worksheets in a workbook, tick the box for Windows of active workbook<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
