You could do it manually, through the VMware Workstation program, or <a title=\"How to Use TeamViewer For a Remote Connection Between Two Computers Ads by Google\" href=\"https:\/\/www.guidingtech.com\/teamviewer-remote-connection-between-two-computers\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">install TeamViewer<\/a>, <a title=\"Logmein Express Lets You Share Your Computer Screen Easily\" href=\"https:\/\/www.guidingtech.com\/logmein-express-share-computer-screen-remote-access\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">LogMeIn<\/a>, or any other remote access software. If you just need access within a local network, and you don\u2019t want to access the host machine every time, it\u2019s really easy to <a title=\"How to Enable Remote Desktop in Windows 8\" href=\"https:\/\/www.guidingtech.com\/how-to-enable-remote-desktop-in-windows-8\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">enable standard remote desktop connections<\/a>.<\/p><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Enabling remote desktop connections in VMware is done both regularly, through the operating system, and within the VMware network settings. We must set up port forwarding in VMware so the program knows what to do when we request access via remote desktop.<\/p><h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Configure VMware for RDP (Remote Desktop) Connections<\/h2><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">VMware first needs to be configured to forward RDP requests to the IP address the <a title=\"How To Clone Your Old PC For Free And Without Losing Programs\" href=\"https:\/\/www.guidingtech.com\/clone-old-pc-virtualize-vmware-sun-virtual-box\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">virtual machine<\/a> is using.<\/p><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Step 1:<\/strong> Launch the menu item <em>VM &gt; Settings<\/em>.<\/p><figure class=\"wp-block-image nonjs-hidden lazyload\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/sshot-0_4d470f76dc99e18ad75087b1b8410ea9.png\" alt=\"Sshot 0\"><\/figure><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">From the <em>Hardware <\/em>tab, select <em>Network Adapter<\/em> and choose <em>NAT<\/em> as the connection type.<\/p><figure class=\"wp-block-image nonjs-hidden lazyload\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/sshot-36_4d470f76dc99e18ad75087b1b8410ea9.png\" alt=\"Sshot 36\"><\/figure><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Step 2: <\/strong>Search the start menu for command prompt from within the virtual machine. Enter <em>ipconfig<\/em> in the prompt and search for a value following the <em>IPv4 Address<\/em>. Record this address for later use. Ours is <em>192.168.163.133<\/em>.<\/p><figure class=\"wp-block-image nonjs-hidden lazyload\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/sshot-19_4d470f76dc99e18ad75087b1b8410ea9.png\" alt=\"Sshot 19\"><\/figure><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Step 3:<\/strong> Now select the menu item <em>Edit &gt; Virtual Network Editor<\/em>.<\/p><figure class=\"wp-block-image nonjs-hidden lazyload\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/sshot-28_4d470f76dc99e18ad75087b1b8410ea9.png\" alt=\"Sshot 28\"><\/figure><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Select the <em>NAT<\/em> network type and then choose <em>NAT Settings<\/em>.<\/p><figure class=\"wp-block-image nonjs-hidden lazyload\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/sshot-45_4d470f76dc99e18ad75087b1b8410ea9.png\" alt=\"Sshot 45\"><\/figure><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Step 4:<\/strong> From this new prompt, click <em>Add<\/em> to include a new port forwarder.<\/p><figure class=\"wp-block-image nonjs-hidden lazyload\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/sshot-52_4d470f76dc99e18ad75087b1b8410ea9.png\" alt=\"Sshot 52\"><\/figure><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Enter the following information:<\/p><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Host Port:<\/strong> <em>9997<\/em><\/p><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The <em>Host Port<\/em> number is simply an open port number. If you\u2019re unsure what number to use, select the one we have here.<\/p><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Type: <\/strong><em>TCP<\/em><\/p><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Virtual machine IP address:<\/strong> <em>Enter the IP you recorded in Step 2<\/em>.<\/p><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Virtual machine port:<\/strong> <em>3389<\/em><\/p><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This port number is <em>3389<\/em> by default, but can be changed <a title=\"Change the RDP Port Number in the Registry\" href=\"https:\/\/www.guidingtech.com\/remote-desktop-multiple-computers-network\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">via a registry edit<\/a>.
